Haraz Coffee House is a thoughtfully curated coffee spot tucked into the lively Franklin Street corridor of San Francisco. More than your typical café, Haraz offers a broad menu that blends traditional Yemeni coffee rituals with familiar staples and inventive pastries. It’s a place where the ritual of coffee drinking is elevated by spices like cardamom and saffron, giving each cup a distinctive warmth that’s both comforting and a little unexpected.

The atmosphere inside feels modern and polished, with a clean, swanky vibe that still manages to invite you to linger. It’s well-suited for a variety of visits: whether you want to catch up with a friend over their creamy pistachio or rose milk cakes, find focus working solo with a strong pour-over, or grab a quick but flavorful espresso on your way through the city. The café thoughtfully caters to people who appreciate subtle flavor complexities—their Harazi Mufawar or Sana’ani coffee options offer something different from the usual drip or latte crowd.

Locals seem to appreciate the friendly staff and the way Haraz balances a relaxed environment with a refined edge—making it a reliable spot for either socializing or more quiet activities like reading or working on a laptop. While parking can be a challenge given the urban setting, the café’s energy makes it worth the hunt, especially during mornings and early afternoons when the space fills with people settling in for their daily caffeine fix.

The dessert selection is a highlight, with items like the Baklava Cheesecake or Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake showcasing a clever fusion of Middle Eastern and Western tastes. These treats pair nicely with their signature lattes, including an unexpected favorite among regulars: the salted caramel latte and pistachio latte, which balance sweetness and spice thoughtfully.

Whether you’re after a traditional Yemeni coffee experience—complete with spices such as cardamom and cinnamon—or a silky latte made with care, Haraz stands out as a café that serves more than just the usual options. It’s a spot that local coffee enthusiasts and curious visitors will appreciate for its character, versatility, and the subtle sense of place it brings to this corner of San Francisco.

Nice cafe where you can have Yemeni coffee with spices like cardamom. Parking can be tricky as it is in SF.

Absolutely love the hot salted Carmel latte!! Omg! This was delicious! So much so, I came back the next morning for 2 more coffees. I sat and enjoyed the atmosphere drinking one, then when I was ready to go, I got another coffee to go!!

I love this place! Fantastic rich coffees in a swanky modern retail space. What a hidden gem. We ordered a Cortado and a latte. Both perfect with great flavor. And they got the milk just right for both drinks. And the staff are super friendly. I love locally owned and operated businesses. And coffee is my favorite vice!

Staff are friendly. Love the ambience. Perfect for socializing, relaxing, maybe working. We definitely enjoyed their Matcha Latte & Pistachio Latte. Their Mosaic Dubai was so delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness & very smooth.

I tried the Iced Mufawar and a samosa. I appreciate the unique items on the menu and the variety of pastries. The coffee was definitely stronger than I expected, so I would recommend sweetening it if you get it! The samosa was really good, too. Plenty of space to work from the cafe or read.

Highlight, the workers behind the counter are patient and lovely I've tried most of the pastries/sweets. I wanted to love their take on the Dubai chocolate cake, but unfortunately since it sits in close proximity and in the same case as the items made with rose water, it's ruins the cake because it picks up the rose essence and you taste it The best item, im my opinion, is their baklava cheesecake. Its the star just get it, no doubt that you'll be happy you did. Skip the beautiful pistachio croissant.
